The best way to learn Spanish

High-school classes, college courses, private tutors, etc.

These were some of the most “popular” techniques used for decades to learn a new language.

While these worked for some they don’t work for everyone. They certainly didn’t work for me. And if you’re reading this, well, likely they didn’t work for you either.

One high-school class I was enrolled in moved to fast and another one moved to slow. They mainly focused on memorizing vocabulary words for tests. You know, the colors, days, numbers, etc.

Similarly, college courses and exams focused to much on the structural grammar of forming a sentence and never gave me the opportunity to actually practice what I really wanted to do… speak the darn language!

And while the use of a private tutor is great for those who prefer one-on-one learning the cost for hiring one can be extremely high. (Usually $40-$80/hour… ouch!)

So what is the solution? What is truly the fastest way to learn Spanish that is actually practical, economical, and simply just makes sense?

What is the best way to learn Spanish?

Well after much trial and error I reached three fundamental realizations:

I personally wanted to learn Spanish,

  1. at my own pace,
  2. on my own schedule,
  3. and at a fraction of the cost.

If you are looking for the best way to learn Spanish then I promise you there are innovative, more effective methods to help you accomplish your goal.

From my experience I found dedicated software programs designed for learning efficiency to be the most effective. Of the countless programs I tested, the Rocket Languages Spanish course has been the most effective at teaching me to speak and understand Spanish in the quickest amount of time. If you would like to see all the positives and negatives of the program you can see my full in-depth review here.

Personally, I found their approach to be the best course for a beginner like me. Through this program I have learned the foundation I needed and with the amount of detail they cover in the course I continue to expand my language each and every day.

However, if you are a different type of learner and find it’s not for you, then don’t worry, I also reviewed some of the other best Spanish learning software I have used which you can see here.

Lastly, if you’re already on a Spanish learning program and are just looking for some supplementary material to help fill in the gaps then I have also found some free Spanish audio books and ebooks I recommend here.

Well, that’s all for know. I hope these guides will help you discover the easiest way to learn Spanish that works for you.

Best regards

Tutors are definitely better for down the line. As a beginner I’m not planning to hire a tutor until I get further along in my online course.

I’m a big fan of using apps on my iPhone. Do you have any good apps you recommend?

Yes! I had absolutely no luck with spanish high school classes either. It wasn’t until I tried an online program that I started seeing results.
